Provided comprehensive functional safety support for an integrated electric rear axle drive (eRAD) system development, ensuring compliance with ISO 26262:2018 automotive functional safety standards. The eRAD represents a state-of-the-art 3-in-1 integrated powertrain solution combining electric motor, power electronics, and transmission in a compact unit directly powering the vehicle's axle. The implemented safety measures successfully supported the eRAD project in achieving ASIL C certification, enabling safer deployment in hybrid and battery-electric vehicles while avoiding critical hazards such as unintended acceleration, deceleration, or loss of traction control that could result in moderate-to-severe injuries.
